Morning in America

Yesterday, I was bouncing off the walls I was so mad. The L.A. School Board decided to indoctrinate our school children with their political opinion and outright lies that Arizona's immigration law is un-American, racist, and comparable to slavery, Jim Crow laws and internment camps for Japanese Americans during World War II (ALL programs initiated by Democrats, I might add). Israel is being condemned by the world's leaders for intercepting a ship filled with terrorist mercenaries, while an unprovoked North Korea who sank a South Korean ship is largely ignored. Iran is about to get nuclear weapons while Obama and the U.N. impotently "fiddle while the world burns." The left keep repeating the outright LIE that Mexican drug cartels get their guns from the U.S. as an attempt to defer to international treaties to overturn our Constitutional rights. California politicians, in anticipation of the McDonald case before the Supreme Court, are passing gun control laws like mad so that we will have to spend untold millions of taxpayer dollars defending lawsuits to overturn them. Our national debt passed $13 trillion and Obama's budget runs trillion dollar deficits each year for as far as we can see. As things get worse, the Obama administration (and Paul McCartney) continue to blame their predecessor 16 months into their term.

Economic collapse, antisemitism, appeasement, government propaganda and the rise of Marxism are all signs that we are repeating the mistakes of the 20th century that led to the rise of the Nazi party (otherwise known as the National Socialist Workers' Party, or in modern form-the SEIU) and WWII.

I was fit to be tied yesterday! However, once I sat down, relaxed, had a beer, thought things through and watched the Lakers beat the Celtics, I realized that things are actually changing for the better. The Tea Party movement is viewed favorably by more Americans than either the Democrats or Republicans. The majority of Americans, in spite of overwhelming media bias, agree overwhelmingly with the Arizona immigration law and several states are planning to pass their own, similar laws. Americans overwhelmingly support Israel and their right to intercept ships coming into Gaza. The Supreme Court will most likely decide that the Second Amendment is an individual right as originally conceived.

Polls show that never before in our history have the citizens and politicians been so out of sync on the key issues. Over 70% of Americans think the country is on the wrong track, as opposed to only 6% of government employees. Liberal-run mainstream media like ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, The New York Times, and The L.A. Times are hemorrhaging viewers and readers while Fox News is beating all of their competitors by huge margins.

Americans are waking up. Just go to Amazon.com and view the best selling non-fiction books if you don't believe me. Americans are educating themselves on the Constitution, our founding fathers (who were not the racist secularists as is taught) and our American history that have been so distorted by the progressives in the media, Hollywood, teacher's unions and leftist school boards like L.A.'s. The progressive left sees this and, like a wounded wild animal, are aggressively lashing back. But, take heart. They are on their way out. They are on their death march and they know it. Their times are over. As Ronald Reagan said, "it's morning in America."

Formula 1 in Abu Dhabi

The Formula 1 season comes to a close this weekend with Jenson Button having wrapped up the championship in the last race in Brazil. This weekend's penultimate race is on a brand new $1 billion track in Abu Dhabi. I saw the track for the first time today in the practice session broadcast. WOW! What a facility! Expensive, modern, high tech. The track is built next to a marina with countless yachts docked to watch the race. One of the vessels can only be modestly called a "yacht." It's a freaking SHIP! The announcers were compelled to explain that it was not a building we were seeing in the background shots.

Anyone who pays any attention to current events knows that Abu Dhabi, in the Unite Arab Emirates, is swimming in wealth. While the rest of the world's economies are faltering and the U.S. is in the worst recession in eight decades, how come the UAE is realizing untold wealth and we're not?

Oil. The entire economy of the UAE is built on oil. The U.S. buys oil from the UAE as do many countries.

The U.S. has as much oil as the UAE. We also have coal, natural gas, and the technology to build nuclear power plants; just like France does and just like we're "encouraging" Iran to build. However, our government will not allow us to explore, mine, develop and use those resources. While our appointed "rulers" in Washington (and Sacramento) fiddle while the U.S. burns, there is untold wealth ready to be made available to the American people. And, with today's technology, it can be acquired and used with little or no environmental impact. Just ask the Norwegians, some of the greenest people on Earth, and who drill for oil off their beautiful pristine coast.

I encourage everyone to watch the Formula 1 race this weekend. It should be a good race in spite of the World Champion already being decided. The only other spot that's assured is fourth place and all others are up for grabs. And while you're watching, take notice of the extraordinary riches that are within our grasp and could stimulate our economy like no Government program ever has. If only our misguided, irresponsible politicians weren't committing national suicide that is.

President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize

Less than a week after Saturday Night Live mocked President Obama for accomplishing absolutely NOTHING in his first nine months in office, the Nobel Foundation awards him the Nobel Peace Prize. Now, this is hardly surprising as the Nobel Foundation has been an anti-American, liberal organization for decades. Only Americans who openly criticize the U.S., without pointing out that the U.S. has been the most effective force for peace, freedom and liberty in human history, are eligible for the award. Therefore, Al Gore and Jimmy Carter are the most recent Americans to be awarded the prize. The Nobel voters must have felt that "tingle all up and down their legs" during Obama's international apology tour this year. This is most likely the accomplishment that so impressed the Nobel voters.

The most effective leaders who brought about peace in my lifetime were Ronald Reagan, Margaret Thatcher and Pope John Paul II. They ended the decades long cold war against an oppressive regime without ever firing a shot. They didn't win a Nobel Peace Prize; although Mikhail Gorbachev did. As did the unapologetic terrorist Yasser Arafat. Mohandas Gandhi never won either, although he was nominated five times. Is there any name more synonymous with peace than Gandhi?

The Los Angeles affiliate of CBS radio this morning likened the award to giving an emmy to a TV show still in production. I'm pretty certain that the international community is optimistic that Obama will finally bring about a European Socialism to the U.S., thus eliminating the world's biggest economic power, meaning competitor. I hope they regret their decision.

E-Mail to Governor Schwarzenegger

The Ammo Ban (AB962) and the Gunshow Ban (SB585) have passed all legislative checks, and have been on your desk for more than a week. If you do nothing, these will become law. Our Second Amendment rights have been under attack by Democrats in California for decades and these two bills are more of the same. These will do NOTHING to prevent or prosecute criminals, only to disarm their victims, the law abiding citizens.

I was to understand that you are a Republican. Republicans believe in our Constitutional Rights. Kennedy Democrats do not. Are you a Republican or a Kennedy Democrat? Do you believe in the Second Amendment which specifically states that our right to keep and bear arms should not be INFRINGED? Republicans believe this, Kennedy Democrats do not.

The fact that these two bills have been sitting on your desk for over a week indicates that your critics may be correct: you are a Republican In Name Only (RINO). I voted for you in the past, but if you have any future ambitions for political office, I suggest that you stop being a "girly-man" and veto the damn bills!

The Passing of Ted Kennedy

In 1776, the good people of Massachusetts led the colonies in a declaration of war on Britain, an oppressive monarchy that among other things, levied excessive taxes as a punitive weapon against the people. In 1947, the people of Massachusetts appointed another monarchy that for 62 years has, among other things, levied excessive taxes as a punitive weapon against the people.

The very fact that a single person can serve 47 years as a Senator is reason enough to seriously consider term limits. The Kennedys embody the very core belief of liberals that the common people are too stupid to make decisions for themselves. Instead, we need a ruling class to tell us how to run our own lives. And so was created "Camelot."

We have allowed the Kennedys the privileges of royalty to be above the law. Ted Kennedy was given a pass for Chappaquiddick. If a "commoner" had committed such an act of criminal irresponsibility, they would have been imprisoned and any public career ruined. While Ted Kennedy lobbied for and passed punitive estate and inheritance taxes that have forced families to sell off businesses and farms that have been in their families for generations, Ted Kennedy benefited from trusts and private foundations and offshore accounts in Fiji that have shielded the Kennedy fortune from the IRS.

The Kennedys seem to have an entitlement attitude toward governing (not to be confused with serving) the people. John, Robert, Ted, and now Patrick Kennedy all have devoted their lives to imposing their rule over the masses with the consent of the liberal people of Massachusetts. Luckily, Caroline's entitlement to the Senate was derailed by an interview that should have been more ridiculed than Sarah Palin's Katie Couric performance; but, she is royalty after all and Sarah is just a commoner like the rest of us. Ted Kennedy alone, given the spending and debt imposed on future generations, has probably spent more of my money than I have.

So, I hope that Teddy Kennedy will rest in peace. I never wished illness or death on the man. Only that he would lose his day job. Let's agree to put an end to the monarchy.

Oakland Shooting Exploitation

The Lovelle Mixon shooting and killing of four Oakland police officers is being used as a justification to enact a laundry list of new gun control laws by our State and Federal representatives. Proposals include making the expired Federal assault weapons law permanent; placing limits on ammunition sales, requiring registration of “high capacity” magazines, biometric handgun safeties, serial number imprinting on ammunition, and just about every other anti-gun idea that infringes on our right to keep and bear arms.

These representatives and activists think that we are stupid enough to believe that if we just passed more laws, that these kinds of incidents would not happen. Right.

Mr. Mixon was hardly a model, law abiding, citizen. According to Wikipedia: Beginning at age 13, Mixon was arrested multiple times for battery, and by age 20 he began serving a Corcoran state prison sentence following a conviction for assault with a deadly weapon during an armed robbery in San Francisco. After he was paroled, Mixon was in and out of prison. At the time of his assault on the officers, he was living in East Oakland at his grandmother's house and was wanted on a no-bail arrest warrant for violating his current parole conditions. On March 20, 2009, the day before Mixon killed the police officers, Oakland police learned that Mixon was linked by DNA to the February 2009 rape of a 12-year-old girl who was dragged off the street at gunpoint in the East Oakland neighborhood where Mixon's sister lived. Investigators said that he may have committed as many as five other rapes in the same neighborhood during recent months, however no convictions had been secured before Mixon's death and the DNA investigation continues. If Mixon had been arrested for his parole violaton, he would have faced at most six months in prison; if convicted of rape, he faced a life sentence.

Mixon had also been the primary suspect in a previous murder case, however due to lack of evidence he had been charged only with lesser violations: possession of drug paraphernalia, forgery, identity theft, attempted grand theft, and receiving stolen property.

The Oakland shootings took place in California, the state with the most restrictive gun control laws in the country already. Besides the shootings themselves, it was illegal for Mr. Mixon to own or possess any firearm, let alone an AK-47, used in the shooting. AK-47’s have been illegal for ten years already.

So, why on earth do our representatives figure that more laws would prevent future occurrences of these types? New laws won’t do a single thing except to give the criminals even more leverage over law abiding citizens’ right to protect themselves. How Mixon got the guns used in the shootings or whether he used high capacity magazines has not been disclosed.

The answer is that this tragedy is being exploited by anti-gun zealots to advance an ideological agenda, regardless of the facts. Only two weeks ago, there was a Columbine-like shooting in Germany, which has some of the strictest gun control regulations in the world. The fact is that across the country, and the world, there is no correlation between the existence of strict firearms regulations and a lower incidence of gun-related crimes.

Welcome to Fascism, America

The American Heritage Dictionary defines fascism as “A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.” Under Obama and the Democrats, we’re headed for fascism with a bullet.

It’s ironic that Democrats constantly refer to Republicans with the “F” word, but there’s one party who fits the above description to a tee: Democrats.

With the Democrats’ trillion dollar stimulus bill, bailouts, ownership of banks and insurance companies, we’re seeing an unprecedented centralization of authority with the Federal Government and stringent socioeconomic controls. All of this shoved down the throats of Americans through the suppression of the opposition by shutting Republicans out of the process. Dictator Obama to Republicans: we won and we’re doing it my way. Obama has been terrorizing the public with threats of doom and gloom should we not let Nancy Pelosi replace our free capitalist economy with European socialism. The audacity of hope has turned into the politics of fear in record time.

Censorship is a favorite and frequently wielded tool of the left. Conservative speakers can no longer speak in public, especially at college campuses, without leftist loons shouting them down, rushing the podiums, throwing food (or shoes), or otherwise disrupting and interrupting their presentations.

Democrats also have a plan to censor talk radio, which is predominately conservative, with the “Fairness” Doctrine. The Fairness Doctrine would require every radio station to present both points of view. Sounds good, doesn’t it? Except the Fairness Doctrine doesn’t apply to traditionally liberal news outlets, like network news, newspapers, or new media like the Internet. It’s a blatant attempt to censor conservative talk show hosts like Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingram and Sean Hannity, among others.

Liberal news agencies have censored their reporters from using the word “terrorist” and substitute “freedom fighters” or as Helen Thomas likes to call them, “so-called terrorists,” to describe these murderers of innocent men, women and children.

Democrats have historically called anyone they disagree with “racists”, but this past campaign season has been unprecedented. Anyone who dares question the left’s immigration amnesty programs and believes we have an obligation to secure our borders is labeled a racist. Anyone who dares question comrade Obama’s programs or policies is labeled a racist. Democrats put every American in a victim group and dole out money, services, programs and other bribes to cynically pit one American against the other. Apparently, no one can have an opinion that marriage should be between a man and a woman, as it has been throughout the entirety of human history, without being labeled a homophobe or a suppressor of civil rights. Baloney.

The left in this country has adopted the tactics of fascist regimes past. Consider the following:

American children are increasingly being indoctrinated into the far left ideology and encouraged to betray their parents to the politically correct gestapo: Al Gore recently spoke to 3,000 12 year olds and was recorded telling them that they knew better than their parents and they should not listen to them. Democrats have passed laws taking away parental authority including banning required parental notification of abortions. Parents who spank their children can be brought up on charges. Public schools indoctrinate children on the most liberal of agendas and prohibit any mention of religion or denial of the religion of global warming. We live in a culture that markets sex and the anti-social behaviors of gangsta rappers to 12 year olds, without any outrage in the salons of NBC news or the New York Times and other liberal media outlets.

Elections are no longer an objective tool of governance, unless of course the Democrats win. The people of this country have overwhelmingly voted to protect marriage as between a man and a woman: even in the most liberal states in the country, Massachusetts, Washington, Oregon and California. So, Democrats go to the liberally stacked courts and have unethical judges overturn the will of the people and impose their will on their “unenlightened” subjects. Minority rules, majority go take a hike. Election losses are only temporary until Democrats can stack the ballot boxes, find “lost” or uncounted ballots, double count, come up with more ballots than voters, file legal challenges and otherwise overturn the will of the people through lying, cheating and stealing.

Civil rights are routinely taken away by these same fascists. Second Amendment rights? Not in public. First Amendment rights? Don’t say anything politically incorrect or it will be labeled hate speech. Property rights? Yeah, unless the Government decides to use eminent domain to give your property to a shopping mall developer whose made the correct campaign contributions. Nice.

I will say, there’s one part of the above definition that doesn’t apply to Democrats: nationalism. The definition of nationalism is:

1.) Devotion to the interests or culture of one's nation.

2.) The belief that nations will benefit from acting independently rather than collectively, emphasizing national rather than international goals.

3.) Aspirations for national independence in a country under foreign domination.

Until recently, these were admirable beliefs. Now, we defer to the French and UN for moral authority even though key UN committees like the Security committee are populated with the worst dictatorial regimes on the planet; we open our borders to unrestricted and uncontrolled immigration which costs California alone over $8 billion a year, not in the interest of our country but in the interest of Democrat votes; and the majority of Democrats think the US is a bad influence on the world.

A Letter To My State and Federal Representatives

Having lived through the L.A. riots and witnessed the chaos during the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, I’ve often thought of buying a gun to protect myself when the police are overwhelmed by the situation. I think it’s reasonable to expect similar circumstances should a significant earthquake occur. I finally took the initiative last month and purchased a handgun for protection.

The process of purchasing and owning a gun has been an eye-opening experience to say the least. I always believed that the U.S. Constitution protected our civil rights to protect ourselves and to bear arms, but apparently I was mistaken. It seems my Constitutional right expires the moment I leave my own property as I cannot carry a usable, unlocked weapon in public. How is this legal to limit a citizen’s Constitutional rights?

Can this legislation be applied to all of our rights? For example, should our first amendment rights to free speech be limited to our own property as well? I suppose we should arrest anyone protesting at the Federal Center or in Exposition Park for exercising their first amendment rights outside their own house. Legislators in this state are opposed to any “chipping away” at Roe v. Wade, but seem unconcerned about chipping away at our explicit Constitutional rights.

My newfound awareness will certainly influence my vote and support for my elected representatives. I will be watching very carefully and making my voice heard on what I consider to be unconstitutional limitations on my Constitutional rights.

Dianne Feinstein’s Response:

Thank you for contacting me to express your opposition to gun control. I appreciate hearing your views on this important issue and I welcome the opportunity to respond.

I appreciate that there are many law abiding gun owners who use their weapons for activities such as hunting and sport in a safe and effective manner and I support an individual's Second Amendment right to own a gun for such purposes.

At the same time, the problem of gun violence in this country is a serious one. The assault weapon attack on four children and an adult at a Jewish Community Center in Los Angeles in 1999, the school shooting at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, and the tragedies at Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois Universities are examples of the tragic results of gun violence.

During my tenure in the Senate, I have worked hard to introduce and support common-sense gun control legislation designed to keep our cities and neighborhoods safe. Additionally, I have worked to prevent criminals and children from having access to firearms. For example, I authored legislation to restrict large-capacity ammunition magazines and ban Assault Weapons, which was enacted into law in 1994. Unfortunately, that ban expired in 2004 and my efforts to reinstate the ban have been blocked.

Please know that while we may not agree on this issue, I value your opinions and have read your letter with interest. Be assured I will keep your thoughts in mind as the gun control debate continues.

Once again, thank you for your letter. I hope you will continue to keep me informed on issues of importance to you. Best regards.

Sincerely yours,

Dianne Feinstein

United States Senator

My Comments on Sen. Feinstein’s Response:

So, Senator Feinstein supports our Second Amendment Constitutional rights, but for hunters and sportsmen only. I did not realize that our founding fathers sat down to write the Bill of Rights and said: “first, every citizen should have the right to free speech. Second, every citizen should have the right to shoot clay pigeons!”

If fact, the Second Amendment was written so that every citizen has the right to defend our country from invaders and tyranny, and defend ourselves and our property from harm. There’s no better example of the consequences of disarming the law-abiding citizenry than those given by Senator Feinstein. It’s no coincidence that the states where those tragedies occurred are ranked in the top 20 states with gun control according to the Brady Campaign. California is the highest ranked by the Brady Bunch for gun control, so what exactly is the Senator’s point?

It may come as a shock to the Senator but criminals don’t obey her laws, only their victims do. She and her like have painted big red signs outside our schools and campuses that say “Welcome! No guns here, only victims.” I won’t go so far as to say that Senator Feinstein has blood on her hands; the perpetrators of the crimes are solely responsible; but, the Senator has certainly created an environment where they can thrive.

I would also encourage the Senator to view videotape of the L.A. riots and notice all of the merchants guarding their property from their rooftops with “assault weapons.” Those stores were not burned to the ground like their neighbors’ were. But, all we hear from the gun control nuts is “what would anyone ever need an assault weapon for?”

All Senators must take an oath of office to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.” Senator Feinstein has violated her oath of office.

As an aside; the Senator responded to my e-mail on April 1st. How appropriate.

Roe v. Wade and the Second Amendment

The Washington Post reports that purchases of firearms and ammunition have risen 8 to 10 percent this year, according to state and federal data. The economy and the recent elections are cited as the most common reason for the sales.

Obama believes in placing restrictions on gun ownership and supports making the expired federal assault weapons ban permanent along with a handful of other restrictions on our Second Amendment rights. Even if he doesn’t push the issue, he will most likely bend to the wishes of the most liberal Congress in U.S. history.

I live in California, which puts more restrictions on guns than any other state. California is under the arrogant delusion that it should dictate Federal law and, unfortunately, Congress is stacked with California Democrats with the influence to make that a reality. So even if you don't live here, it's coming to your state soon.

I've had a few weeks to contemplate the recent elections, and while most of the controversy in California has focused on the Defense of Marriage Act, or Proposition 8, I've been contemplating Proposition 4, requiring parental notification for abortions. The arguments used against Prop 4 demonstrate an inconsistent application of the “law” in California and across the country. Any restrictions on abortion, even common sense proposals like parental notification or partial birth abortion bans, are opposed on the grounds that they will chip away at Roe v. Wade. On the other hand, those same people  (Democrats) have no problem chipping away at the Second Amendment which is an explicit Constitutionally guaranteed right as opposed to one granted by a split decision of nine judges, overturning the lawfully enacted legislation of 48 states.

However you feel about Roe or the Second Amendment, let's not be hypocrites; let's apply the same standards to both. Either we put restrictions on both, or we put restrictions on neither. Resolved:

A minor under 16 may not possess a handgun, unless they are accompanied by their parent or guardian. Therefore, a minor under 16 should not be able to obtain an abortion unless they are accompanied by their parent or guardian.

The purchaser of a firearm must present a valid California Driver’s License or a California Identification Card and supply their right thumbprint. The purchaser of a handgun must also provide additional proof of California residence, other than a document from the Department of Motor Vehicles. Therefore, anyone requesting an abortion must also present the same resident identification and thumbprints.

The licensed firearms dealer sends a copy of the application to the California Department of Justice and the local police chief or sheriff. The abortionist should be required to send a copy of an abortion application to the Medical Board of California and any city and county health services departments.

There is a 10-day waiting period before delivery of any firearm. Therefore, there must be a ten day waiting period before performing any abortion.

The California Department of Justice (CA DOJ) will conduct a background check on each gun buyer and the fee is $25.00. Similarly, there should be a background check and fee for anyone applying for an abortion.

No person shall purchase or transfer a handgun to someone without a Handgun Safety Certificate (HRC). To receive a handgun safety certificate, a person must pass a written test that includes but is not limited to laws applicable to the ownership, use, handling, and carrying of firearms, particularly handguns. A CA DOJ certified instructor must administer the Handgun Safety Certificate test. So, a doctor or abortionist may not provide an abortion to someone without an Abortion Awareness Certificate (AAC). To receive an AAC, a person must pass a written test that includes but is not limited to abstinence, contraception, development of a fetus, and laws applicable to abortion and statutory rape.

California law places numerous limits on the types of guns a citizen can own. California law should allow only certain types of abortions and prohibit late-term and partial birth abortions.

No person shall make an application to purchase more than one pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person within a 30 day period. Consequently, no person is allowed to have more than one abortion within a 30 month period.

Obama and other Democrats voted against requiring doctors to provide medical care to infants who survive botched abortions. In that case, doctors (and police officers) should not be required to provide medical care to criminals who survive being shot during a botched crime.

U.S. Gun deaths in 2004 = 29,569

U.S. Abortions per year = 1.3 million

Guns don’t kill people, abortionists do.
